Privacy notice

Effective September 30, 2026

The short version: Submitted text is processed ephemerally by default. SlopFilter stores a report for 24 hours only when you explicitly request sharing. External citation resolution is optional and sends extracted anchors, not the document text, to outside services.

Information processed

SlopFilter processes text you submit, optional title and object-type fields, and settings needed to perform the requested analysis. The service uses a one-way hash derived from the connecting network address in memory to enforce rate limits. It does not use that value to build a profile.

Retention

Default analyses are performed in temporary runtime storage and are removed after the response is produced. If you request a shareable report, the report is stored for 24 hours and then expires. Production access logging is disabled for analysis and shared-report routes.

Files and your browser

When you open a PDF, .docx, text or Markdown file, your browser reads it on your device and places only the extracted text in the input box. The file itself is not uploaded. The PDF reader is served from slopfilter.ai. SlopFilter pages load no scripts, fonts or analytics from other sites, and they set no cookies. One flag in your browser's local storage (key sf_accepted_v1_1, value 1) records that you acknowledged the opening notice, so it is not shown again. It holds no personal information, and clearing this site's data in your browser removes it.

Hosting and logs

SlopFilter is served by nginx on a Honeycutt Ai Labs server hosted on Amazon Web Services. Ordinary page requests (the SlopFilter, Privacy, Terms and Methodology pages) are recorded in the web server's standard access log, which holds the time, the requested address, the response code and the visitor's network address, and is kept under the server's normal log rotation. Requests to the analysis, witness, shared-report and PDF-reader routes are not written to that log.

Optional outbound resolution

If you enable outbound citation resolution, SlopFilter may send extracted DOI, URL, case-law, named-source, or similar anchor values to source services such as Crossref, OpenAlex, CourtListener, or the website named by a URL. Document text is not sent for this function. An anchor can itself contain personal information, identifiers, or URL query data, so review anchors before enabling this option.

Purpose and sharing

Information is used to provide the analysis, protect the service from abuse, operate an explicitly requested shared report, and resolve anchors when requested. Honeycutt AI Labs LLC does not sell submitted text or use it to train a model through this service.

Your choices

Do not submit credentials, secrets, regulated data, or personal information you are not authorized to process. Leave sharing and outbound resolution disabled if you do not want those optional operations. For a privacy request, contact hello@honeycuttailabs.com.
